Ingredients:
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate pieces
- Butter a 9x9x2-inch baking pan. Spread chopped pecans evenly in the pan.
- In a saucepan, combine brown sugar and butter. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
- Continue boiling over medium heat for 7 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Immediately pour and spread the hot mixture evenly over the pecans in the pan.
- Sprinkle semisweet chocolate pieces over the hot candy.
- Cover the pan with a baking sheet to trap heat and melt the chocolate.
- Once melted, spread the chocolate evenly over the candy.
- While still warm, cut into 1½-inch squares.
- Chill until firm.
Yield: Approximately 3 dozen candies.
